CAO Report, November 3, 2009 Date: (Tuesday, November 3, 2009) Village Organizational Meeting
Village Council held their annual organizational meeting on October 20, 2009. At that time, appointments were made to several boards such as the Municipal Planning Commission and the Library Board.
Municipal Property Tax Seminar
Administrative assistant, Lenore Klan, attended a one day property tax seminar in Pincher Creek on October 29th. Information from this seminar will be used as part of administration’s on-going review of office policy and practice.
Village Website
The new Village of Caroline website is up and running at www.caroline.ca. Any local businesses or groups that would like to be linked to from the website can contact village administration at 403-722-3781. The Staff will be continuing to develop the website over the coming months, with notices on up-coming community events, information from past Council meetings and electronic development and business license application forms.
Alberta Urban Municipalities Association Conference
Village elected officials and administration will be attending the 2009 Alberta Urban Municipalities Association conference in Calgary from November 3 to 6. The convention provides an opportunity for elected officials, senior Municipal staff, business leaders, Provincially and Federally elected officials and other stakeholders to network, learn and debate resolutions. Workshop topics include: Planning for Economic Recovery, Environment and Sustainability, Finance and Audit, Resiliency to Risk, Building Communities, Water Conservation and Working with the Media.
Council Meetings
The Village of Caroline Council meetings are held regularly on the first and third Tuesday of each month, at two o’clock in the Village Council chamber. Any interested members of the public are encouraged to attend.
Village Office Hours
The Village of Caroline Administration Office is open Tuesday through Friday, 8:30am -12:30pm and 1:30pm – 4:30pm.
