Assessment
Wild Rose assessment is contracted to provide property assessment services to the Village. Our assessor was in the Village during December. Assessment notices are scheduled to be sent out to residents in March 2009.
Animal Licenses
Animal licenses went on sale December 1, 2009. Licenses for cats cost $5.00, while licenses for unaltered and altered dogs cost $30.00 and $20.00, respectively. Remember to get your licenses before February 1. After that time, license fees double. Fines for failing to license you animals can range from $75.00 to $300.00.
CAO Parental Leave
I will be on parental leave from January 13 through April 26. Council has appointed former CAO Christine Heggart as Acting CAO for the duration of my leave in order to provide the greatest possible continuity in administration during this period. I look forward to returning and continuing to work with Council this spring.
Off-site Levies Workshop
Village Council will be meeting for their scheduled off-site levies workshop on Friday, January 8 at 9:30 am. Council will be considering draft off-site levy by-laws. Public hearings will be scheduled in the beginning of 2010, as the process progresses.
Council Meetings
The Village of Caroline’s regular Council Meetings are held the on the first and third Tuesday of each month, at 2:00 pm, in the Village Council chambers. Any interested members of the public who are welcome to come and view the proceedings.
Village Office Hours
The Village of Caroline Administration Office is open Tuesday through Friday, 8:30am -12:30pm and 1:30pm – 4:30pm.
